The beauty of the blogosphere is that I get to express view of reality in a way the pundits wouldn't dare. Here are a couple hard truths:
- Being Governor of Alaska for less than two years is not a qualification. Apart from some nice scenery and some oil, is the state really relevant? Does the "experience" she gains from the sparse frost north really give her any clue on the rest of the world? I find her record frightening and overblown.
- Touting your reform because you beat some other crooked right-winger does not make you a reformer. It may give you a conscious, but not a reformer. When you cling to a hard-line right wing stand that appeals to the base, this isn't being a reformer or a maverick. It's just being a plane old right-winger with a vagina.
- When you openly stand for "family values" including no sex ed, abstinence only ed and no condoms in schools, it does two things. First, it instantly opens your family up to scrutiny when your 17-year old daughter gets knocked up out of wedlock. This scrutiny is completely fair game. Secondly it shows complete ignorance in the types of problems that face real people in the world. Children need education! Not unrealistic ideals that just aren't going to be heard. Kids are having sex whether we like it or not. Apparently your daughter is living proof of that. We have a responsibility to protect them instead of pushing them into the dark.
