Actually 1USAFAN, any expense incurred as a result of his mother-in-law's stay IS billed directly to Barack. As for her staying there, it is not unprecedented. Also, just because HuffPo suggests he's being tough for not using a jacket does not necessarily mean he thinks he is. I think you need to stop judging people for assertions others make.



Another thing, Barack is already taking plenty of other steps to reduce expenses around the White House including turning out the flood lights in the evening.

But see, the whole point of the executive order is to basically say, "We are not being bought and sold by any corporate interest or industry." I'm fine with the exception because I see the order as a statement of policy. Of course Obama and his team knew about the conflict this would cause, but just the fact that he was willing to weather the storm for the sake of honesty says something to me.
